John C. Galanis, M.D., F.A.C.S. is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners. A fellowship-trained ophthalmologist with 18 years of experience, he was the first surgeon in St. Louis to offer patients no-stitch micro-incision cataract surgery and is a pioneer in in-office treatments for the improvement of astigmatism and glaucoma. He has been with Southwest Eye Center since 1993.
Dr. Galanis earned his medical degree in 1984 from St. Louis University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO. After his internship at St. John's Mercy Medical Center, he completed a residency in Ophthalmology at Bethesda Eye Institute, where he was Chief Resident in his final year. Dr. Galanis then did a fellowship in Glaucoma at Estelle Doheny Eye Institute – University of Southern California School of Medicine in Los Angeles. Following this, he was an assistant professor of Glaucoma at Bethesda Eye Institute until 1992.

Dr. Williams is a therapeutic optometrist licensed to diagnose and treat ocular diseases. She participates in both the pre and post operative care of cataract, glaucoma, and refractive surgery patients. She also evaluates patients with macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease.
Dr. Williams earned her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2002 from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. She is an adjunct professor of Optometry at UMSL College of Optometry.

She volunteers for many community organizations such as St. Gerard Majella and the Girl Scouts of America.
